University of Birmingham

About us

One of the leading law schools in the world, Birmingham Law School’s pro bono work is carried out through its Centre for Professional Legal Education and Research (CEPLER). CEPLER offers students opportunities to increase their knowledge of law in action and benefit the wider community.

Former Head of Birmingham Law School and past ELF trustee, Professor Robert Lee oversees the student’s pro bono work for ELF. The University also works in partnership with No5 Chambers, who provide barristers to supervise students work on some of their pro bono cases.

Students in Birmingham’s ELF policy clinic contributed research for ELF’s Local urgency on the Climate Emergency? report.
